What does Holistic Health mean to you?

Although there does not appear to be one universally accepted definition for holistic health, the consensuses of opinions all seem to agree on 2 basic philosophies:

1.      A whole person perspective acknowledging a Body, Mind and Spirit connection.

      2.      A focus on identifying the underlying causes of illness rather than focusing
              on the symptoms.

Although these philosophies are certainly far more conducive to a healthier approach to wellness and life than those of conventional allopathic methods, one key element is very often over looked. It is my feeling that one cannot even begin to approach health (whether it be through allopathic, holistic or other methods) without first fully acknowledging and honoring the very creator of life itself…God.

God created our bodies in an amazing way with the ability of self healing. It is only when interferences get in the way of these God-given abilities that our health and well-being are compromised. He set all the standards for our well being in nature creating a program for abundant health. These standards include foods created by His hands to nourish and sustain us, foods that are whole, organic, fresh, raw, sun-ripened and subsequently unadulterated and filled with life supporting nutrients.

Our body's well being is dependent on good molecules in it's environment (clean food, water and air in their purest form). Our problem today is that God’s program for life did not include provisions for the daily onslaught of the man-made synthetic drugs, artificial ingredients and toxic chemicals that we subject ourselves to through our modern dietary/lifestyle habits and health care regimens. These substances were not in the environment when God made the program for life and therefore do not belong in our bodies. It is through our deviation from God's plan that our genetic program for abundant health has become a program for illness and disease.

When we approach our health and wellness from the perspective of eliminating these interferences from our bodies and replacing them with more natural (God-made) sources, we honor God’s plan for life. When we honor God's plan, we live life more abundantly.

1 Corinthians 10:31: " Whether you are eating or drinking or doing anything else, do all things for God's glory."

1 Corinthians 3:16-17 "[16] Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you? [17] If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him; for God's temple is sacred, and you are that temple."

God loves you deeply and therefore is not only concerned about your spiritual well-being but your physical well-being as well. Many biblical dietary principles have been validated through modern science and research to have significant health benefits and be nutritionally superior than modern practices. The truth is that no one cares about you more or knows better what is best for you than the creator himself.
